see you soon?

it seems that
they’re looking for you
any place they can
think to try.
and who can blame them?

it’s hard to not want,
to need to
find pieces
of what’s gone
and what’s lost.

but, i can’t.

i’m sorry.
it’s not that i don’t
want to find
you. it’s that
it hurts if i try.

but, you come to me.

it’s unexpected,
in the small moments
and mundane.
in the peace
or in my chaos.

each of your visits
unsolicited
and too short.
i understand. you
can’t stay long.

i won’t look for you.

see you soon?
